Sander joins Capgemini

As of September 1, 2005 I have joined Capgemini. My new and unique role of principal technology officer at Capgemini offers me new and international challenges. I intend to make a key contribution in further professionalizing modern software development at Capgemini and its customers.

At Capgemini I focus on software development methodologies and processes, object orientation, UML, agility, software factories, model driven architecture, DSL's, patterns, component based development, and service oriented architectures, using both Java and Microsoft technologies.

While working at Capgemini, I will continue to write for magazines such as Software Release Magazine, SDN Magazine, Informatie, OBJECTSpectrum, .NET Magazine, International Developer and DevX. I intend to start writing a new book in the fall. Besides this, I will continue presenting at seminars of IT Works and Array Seminars and at conferences, such as SDC, JAOO, Database Systems, SET, JavaPolis and OOP.

I would like to thank everyone I’ve worked with during my Ordina years, colleagues, customers and competitors, for their close cooperation.

Sander does keynote at J-Spring conference

On may 11 the J-Spring conference took place. J-Spring is the spring conference of the NL-JUG, The Dutch Java User Group. The conference contained 15 technical sessions on Java and application development. I was pleased to address one of the two keynotes, titled "Applicaton Lifecycle Management. The new buzzword."

As one of the visitors noted in his Blog: "Lunch followed, and two vendorsessions (a boring productdemo rudely interrupted, and a somewhat more intersting talk about MDA etc.). After that a very, very interesting presentation by Sander Hoogendoorn about the software developement proces, and what's wrong with it, and what can be done to right some of these wrongs. Very interesting because it addressed a lot of stuff I have been struggling with. It's not for nothing I have the link to XP in my to read list. Another one I can add now: a link to SMART. To figure out what it is, and what they are. Sander Hoogendoorn aspired, and succeeded, to be the most entertaining presenter of the day."
